I stopped cutting my hair and decided to let it grow out naturally in 2008 because, I hardly ever touched up my perms often and my hair was thin in my eyes. So I let it grow for a while on its own and once it got to that weird length I started wearing tracks and such occasionally, not often, probably two times and the rest of the time I just dealt with the weird lengths.
By May 2009 my hair was about chin length straightened with a flat iron (one thing I forgot to mention is that from 2008 to 2009 I flat ironed my hair on a weekly basis simply because I had no interest at all in wearing my hair in its natural state at that point).
In May 2009 my college graduation was approaching and I didn't want my hair to frizz up like a poofball on that day so I decided to perm my natural tresses for the big day nonetheless, my hair still poofballed because, the perm didn't get through fully on all of my strands but, it was poofy wit some style;-) because it looked decent for some strange reason.
In June 2009 I went to Florida for my bday we went on a water ride at Universal Studios and my sister from another mother Cheralyn Nimrod, noticed my hair in its natural state, she told me never to perm hair again...that was my first natural hair compliment as an adult (who knew?). From that point on I started paying a little bit more attention to wearing my hair in its natural state, and I gave the flat iron a rest temporarily.
Even though my curls showed I still had perm in there and, as my hair grew longer my permed strands became more noticeable and tacky looking:-( I refused to chop the permed ends off because, I wanted to see some length in my hair.
It is now July 2010 and I've trimmed my hair probably twice for the 2009-2010 time period and frankly, this transitioning thing is starting to annoy me. So, the moral of my story is...I'm cutting off all of my permed ends today:-D!
So did ya? Huh. Did ya cut it?
